All teacher training workshops are free, and are endorsed by Dade County Public Schools. AP Computer Science Principles Create Task – 2 Saturday sessions: (Feb 3 & 10, 2018 )
Room EC2710, FIU Engineering Center, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Create Task section of the College Board exam is particularly challenging for teachers who do not have a coding background. This workshop, taught by award-winning teacher Jamie Gant served as a CS Principles grader for the College Board evaluation committee last year, and is able to give you useful tips and techniques to help your students pass this part of the AP exam. MIT App Inventor – 4 Saturday sessions: (Feb 17 & 24, March 3 & 10, 2018 )
This workshop is open to students also! Room EC2830, FIU Engineering Center, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. In this Free workshop taught by award-winning MDCPS teacher Jamie Gant, you learn to create mobile games and applications for Android devices such as cell phones and tablets using an easy-to-learn block-based language. This workshop is a great help in guiding students through the Create Task section of the College Board AP Computer Science Principles class. Participants are provided the use of Android-based digital tablets during class. Participants must bring their own lunch.
